The Bultaco Brinco controller upgrade marks Guilera’s final limited series designed to ensure long-term support and improved ride performance.
The Bultaco Brinco may no longer be in production, but the bikes are still very much alive.
Since the end of the original project, Guilera has continued to support Brinco owners with repairs and technical assistance for their power controllers. Over the years, this meant handling units one by one, directly in our engineering department.
It worked — but it was never a sustainable way to provide long-term support.
So we decided to do what we do best: engineer a better solution.
A final series, built on ten years of experience
Guilera now launches a final limited series of 100 Bultaco Brinco upgraded controllers
These units are not leftovers.
They are newly built controllers, developed to give Brinco owners a reliable and technically improved solution for the years to come.
Compared to the original generation, this new series introduces:
- Current-based control instead of voltage-based logic.
- A fully updated firmware platform, based on more than a decade of field experience.
- Smoother torque delivery and better traction control at low speed.
- Improved manoeuvrability in technical riding.
- Higher overall efficiency.
The result is a Brinco that feels more precise, more predictable and easier to ride — especially in demanding off-road conditions.
Why Guilera still supports the Brinco
At Guilera, we don’t walk away from the projects we’ve been part of.
Between 2015 and 2018, we produced more than 4,000 controllers for the Brinco platform. That creates a responsibility — and we take it seriously.
This final limited series is our way of ensuring that Brinco owners continue to have access to:
- A reliable spare solution,
- A clear technical upgrade,
- And long-term peace of mind.
From Brinco to today’s electrification projects
The experience gained with the Brinco powertrain is part of Guilera’s current electrification strategy.
Today, we combine:
- Our own proprietary technology, available for licensing and integration.
- Partnerships with mature power system suppliers for off-highway electrification, where Guilera has strong industrial presence.
- Prototype projects such as TRAKTORK, developed as a full demonstrator of our engineering and integration capabilities.
The Brinco was an important chapter in this journey.
This final series is how we close it — professionally, and with respect for the riders who still trust the platform.
